Happy Hump Day and let the guest posts BEGINNNNN!!! My Blogiversary Bash is officially underway, and I’m thrilled to present the first of several too-cool-for-school guest bloggers who will be popping up on here to celebrate their favorite movies however they see fit. Are you as excited as I am?! I hope so!! Continue reading
Alright! Who’s ready to check back into A&E’s Bates Motel? I can tell you that this girl was definitely ready for the season three kickoff after a strong second season (and you can read about that premiere here). When we last left Norman, he was barely scraping out of a jam and acting a little crazy…but, hey, what else is new? Continue reading
After tackling one of his movie resolutions last week (Requiem for a Dream, which you can read by clicking right here), unstoppable movie blogger MovieRob decided to stop by once again today to cross another film off of his list. So what’s in store for today? Let’s find out! Take it away, Rob! Continue reading
Happy MLK Day, everybody! You all enjoying your day off and reflecting on the importance of freedom and equality and whatnot? I sure hope so. Really, I should’ve planned to do some kind of inspirational post for today, but…well…I ended up reviewing another film for my Resolutions series instead. Sigh. Not exactly inspirational, but it is what it is. Continue reading
Wow. Has it really been more than a month since this show premiered? Yikes. Sorry, guys. Slowly but surely, I am watching all the shows I’ve been meaning to watch. So is CBS’s sci-fi thriller Extant worth a catch-up session or two? Well, here are some of the particulars of the premiere. Continue reading
I realize at this point they’ve become as overdone as zombies and vampires, but I freaking love superhero movies. When one is on its way to theaters, I inevitably round up a group of nerdy friends and make a midnight trek to see it—because God forbid we wait until the day it comes out. We simply must see it before the rest of the world. Plus, midnight superhero movie premieres make for excellent people-watching. At this premiere, I got to see an overweight couple dressed as Captain America and Black Widow. And in case you were wondering, yes—people did take pictures with them. God bless nerds. God bless (Captain) America.
The awesome Mr. MovieRob recently sent out a request for reviews for his cool new series, Genre Grandeur. The series will hone in on the best of the best in a different genre each month, but the focus for March is thrillers. Naturally, I couldn’t resist writing up a little something about Inception. Check it out! Also, Rob is accepting reviews through the 25th, so definitely take some time to write about your favorite thriller and send it his way!
For my next Genre Grandeur guest review, I present you with a review by Cara from Silver Screen Serenade. Cara has a great blog and whats more, she has great ideas for blogathons. Her Nooovember and Resolutions posts were amazing. Check out her site if you don’t already.
Here’s a review of Cara’s favorite Thriller – Inception (2010).
Take it away Cara….
“You mustn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.” – Eames
Number of Times Seen – Not totally sure. I know I saw it in theaters three times. All in all, this was my sixth or seventh viewing at the very least.
Brief Synopsis – “A skilled extractor is offered a chance to regain his old life as payment for a task considered to be impossible.” (from IMDb)
My Take On It – I said it after my first viewing and I’m still saying…

Between two posts about Hannibal and now this, I am just all kinds of macabre lately! I promise I do not exist solely on a diet of TV shows about murderers. That just seems to be the way things are lately. Anyway, I had hoped to get a review of season one of Bates Motel out before the season two premiere last night, but I didn’t manage to swing it. Continue reading
As this is my THIRD post this week addressing him in some fashion, I am officially declaring this Mads Mikkelsen week on Silver Screen Serenade. I realize it’s a bit of a late declaration, but it’s not too late to celebrate! Go watch something with Mads in it. Continue reading
Holy cow! I have let my TV reviews slip in a big way. I got so preoccupied with my blog series, premiere episodes, and movie stuff that I haven’t done a review of a whole show since September…Whoopsie. But I’m back to it now, and I’m actually hoping to knock out several reviews of my favorite TV shows over the next few weeks. Continue reading
