Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. It’ been sweeping the internet and making its rounds with a ton of folks. Benefiting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease), the Ice Bucket Challenge is pretty straightforward: you dump a bucket of ice water on your head to raise awareness for the disease. This is one I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time. Yes, I know I probably said the same about The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but this was the superhero film I was really waiting for because I do love me some X-Men. There’s something about really spectacular animation paired with an uplifting storyline that just gets me. Continue reading
Good lord. It’s been weeks since I went to see a movie. I think I was starting to have withdrawals. I’ve been so focused on Halloween movies and TV premieres that I’m afraid I’ve been neglecting my duty as a theater-goer. But now I make my triumphant return to film reviews with Prisoners Continue reading
