Yikes. Is this really the first full review I’ve done since mid-July? I’ve been doing a lot of Duets lately, which are great, but it’s nice to take some time to really break down a movie every now and then. Since this one might be getting one or two Oscar nods (at least that’s my guess), it seems worthy of the full-review treatment. Continue reading

Premiere Particulars: iZombie
Alright, alright. I can already feel some people judging me for this one, but, yes, I did decide to give The CW’s iZombie a shot. I figured they’ve done such a stellar job with Arrow and The Flash that the least I could do was check this one out, too. And you know what? It’s actually quite a bit of fun. So let’s discuss the particulars of the premiere. Continue reading

So what’s in store for today? Let’s find out! Take it away, Rob! Continue reading

Premiere Particulars: Gracepoint
What time is it? You got it—time to discuss another TV premiere! This one is a little different from the shows I have discussed/will be discussing this season. You see, this is actually a mini-series that is, from what I understand, almost an exact adaptation of the British series Broadchurch. Like, even some of the names are the same. Continue reading
Premiere Particulars: Gotham
And so it begins—the first of an obnoxious amount of write-ups about premiere episodes. Seriously, you’ll just have to resign yourself to seeing at least a couple of these a week on my blog for the next month or so. But I’m sure glad this one was first on this list because I was extremely curious about it. Have you been curious, too? Well then let me share a few of the particulars of Fox’s new crime drama, Gotham. Continue reading
Genre Grandeur – Ocean’s 11 (2001)
The awesome Mr. MovieRob was kind enough to let me participate in his epic Genre Grandeur series. This month’s theme was crime. My choice? Ocean’s Eleven, of course! There’s still time to send him your crime entry before the 25th, but if that’s too much of a time crunch start preparing for next month’s comic book theme now! Obviously, I can’t wait. 😀 Thanks so much, Rob!!!
For our next Genre Grandeur -Crime entry, I present you with a review by the reigning Shitfest champion, Cara from Silver Screen Serenade. If you don’t already follow here site, I strongly urge you to do so immediately. Cara’s blog has some amazing stuff, she has run 3 amazing guest series (so far) in the last few months alone (Noooovember, Resolutions and her most recent April Fools), she always finds cool and funny videos related to famous actors (mostly from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon) :), she runs Schuster Sister Shenanigans where she and her sister text each other while watching classic films, is a new parent to Miguel (a love child between her and Eric of the IPC) and she has an occasional movie review (just kidding, she does this more often that one would expect.
But enough about Cara, here’s her…

Premiere Particulars: Fargo
I’m not gonna lie—I was initially interested in this show because of Martin Freeman’s involvement in it, but after watching the film Fargo for the first time the other day, I was very curious to see the television adaptation of the quirky dark comedy. Continue reading
Premiere Particulars: Hannibal
As this is my THIRD post this week addressing him in some fashion, I am officially declaring this Mads Mikkelsen week on Silver Screen Serenade. I realize it’s a bit of a late declaration, but it’s not too late to celebrate! Go watch something with Mads in it. Continue reading
Hannibal: a television delicacy
Holy cow! I have let my TV reviews slip in a big way. I got so preoccupied with my blog series, premiere episodes, and movie stuff that I haven’t done a review of a whole show since September…Whoopsie. But I’m back to it now, and I’m actually hoping to knock out several reviews of my favorite TV shows over the next few weeks. Continue reading
