Duets: Poltergeist and Spy

OMG, guys!!! I’m FINALLY doing another movie review!!! In fact, I’m not reviewing one movie, but TWO!!! Sigh. It’s nice to have a bit of time to write again. 🙂 June was a crazy month. Here’s to a (hopefully) chill July. Anyway, boy do I have a pair of vastly different movies for you today.

Duets: Tomorrowland and What We Do in the Shadows

Well, it was bound to happen eventually. In this movie pairing, you will find my first real disappointment of the year. It’s a major bummer—especially because the film I’m referring to made this list of 25 films that caught my interest for this year.

Mad Max: Fury Road: it’s a mad, mad, mad, mad movie

For me, Mad Max: Fury Road was a very surprising addition to my summer movie line-up. I’d never seen any of the Mel Gibson Mad Max films (still haven’t), and I thought the trailer looked way too bizarre for my taste. So I wrote it off, gradually becoming more and more annoyed each time I saw one of the increasingly crazy trailers.

Duets: Pitch Perfect 2 and Unfriended

It’s official: the summer movie season is in full swing. Expect many new reviews in the near future because there’s soooo much I want to see! In fact, I’ve been able to knock out three new films in the last couple of weeks—two of which I’m about to break down for you in this little Duet.

Avengers: Age of Ultron: Earth’s Mightiest Sequel?

There are many nerdtastic movies to look forward to this year—Jurassic World, Spectre, Mockingjay – Part 2. Oh, and some little film called Star Wars or something…? 😉 But the big kick-off for 2015’s nerdy movie line-up was undoubtedly the much anticipated sequel to Avengers.

Duets: Cinderella and It Follows

Remember when I was all “I’m going to be back to my regular review format soon” on my last Duet post? Heh. So much for that, huh? I just saw these two so close together that a Duet review is a little easier on me. Although both of them are worthy of lengthier reviews, and I wish I had the time for them.

The Duet review strikes again! I’ve been doing a lot of these lately, haven’t I? I promise I’ll be back to my more traditional, thorough review format very soon—saw a new movie that I’m itching to talk about—but for now I’ll discuss a couple of fairly new releases. One of these I really dug, and the other was a smidge disappointing.

Duets: Stretch and The DUFF

Happy Monday, friends! Well, as happy as a Monday can be, anyway. I hope you all are starting off the week right, getting stuff done and whatnot. As for me, I’ve got a little Duet to share with you today. For whatever reason, these past few days have been all about the comedies for me—one (somewhat) recently released to DVD and one currently in theaters.

Kingsman: The Secret Service: bloody good fun

Once again, I’m doing a pretty wretched job of seeing the films I vowed to see at the beginning of the year (see that list here), but this was one I wasn’t about to miss—partly because the other offerings so far this year are apparently terrible, partly because this was the first one I’d been hearing good things about.

Duets: Frank and The Imitation Game

It’s finally FRIDAY!!! It’s funny how having Monday off makes the week seem so much longer…But we finally made it, and I finally have something new to share with you! Don’t get me wrong—I’ve got a couple more reblogs on the way this weekend, but I’ve been meaning to write about Oscar-nominated film The Imitation Game for quite a while now!
