An Important Update (and some mini reviews)

Hi, guys. So, first of all, I would like to apologize profusely for disappearing for…let’s see…yikes–nearly three months. It was pretty uncool of me to drop off for so long without any warning. That said…I’m probably about to disappear again. And this time, it could be longer.

Hi, guys! Well in case you haven’t noticed, I’ve fallen disgustingly behind on my movie reviews. Granted, I really haven’t seen a ton of stuff lately, but I’d hoped to keep up with my reviews better than this. Shame on me! Still, I thought of an easy way to remedy my lack of prompt review-writing.

Duets: Ricki and The Flash and The Visit

Hey, guys! Wow. I have been the worst about sticking to my schedule lately, huh? Sorry to disappear for almost a full week! But I’ve returned, and I have a couple of pretty good ones to talk about for this pair of reviews. They are basically on opposite ends of the genre spectrum

Duets: Poltergeist and Spy

OMG, guys!!! I’m FINALLY doing another movie review!!! In fact, I’m not reviewing one movie, but TWO!!! Sigh. It’s nice to have a bit of time to write again. 🙂 June was a crazy month. Here’s to a (hopefully) chill July. Anyway, boy do I have a pair of vastly different movies for you today.

Duets: Tomorrowland and What We Do in the Shadows

Well, it was bound to happen eventually. In this movie pairing, you will find my first real disappointment of the year. It’s a major bummer—especially because the film I’m referring to made this list of 25 films that caught my interest for this year.

Duets: Pitch Perfect 2 and Unfriended

It’s official: the summer movie season is in full swing. Expect many new reviews in the near future because there’s soooo much I want to see! In fact, I’ve been able to knock out three new films in the last couple of weeks—two of which I’m about to break down for you in this little Duet.

Duets: Cinderella and It Follows

Remember when I was all “I’m going to be back to my regular review format soon” on my last Duet post? Heh. So much for that, huh? I just saw these two so close together that a Duet review is a little easier on me. Although both of them are worthy of lengthier reviews, and I wish I had the time for them.

Duets: Snowpiercer and The Guest

The Duet review strikes again! I’ve been doing a lot of these lately, haven’t I? I promise I’ll be back to my more traditional, thorough review format very soon—saw a new movie that I’m itching to talk about—but for now I’ll discuss a couple of fairly new releases. One of these I really dug, and the other was a smidge disappointing.

Duets: Housebound and The Babadook

Finally. FINALLY. I have been waiting all year for horror films I could get excited about, but at last here are two that I thoroughly enjoyed. Don’t get me wrong—there have been a few pretty decent ones in 2014 (like Oculus, Horns, and Honeymoon), but nothing that really made the horror genre fresh and interesting again (at least in my humble opinion).

Duets: The Book of Life and Horns

It’s Friiiiidaaaaayyyyy!!! And you know what just occurred to me? There’s a lot of stuff out and/or coming out right now. I just saw an awesome movie last weekend (review coming soon), I’m seeing what I suspect shall be another awesome one tonight, Mockingjay is out next weekend, The Babadook will (hopefully) be available soon…It’s a busy time, y’all.
