The Duet review strikes again! I’ve been doing a lot of these lately, haven’t I? I promise I’ll be back to my more traditional, thorough review format very soon—saw a new movie that I’m itching to talk about—but for now I’ll discuss a couple of fairly new releases. One of these I really dug, and the other was a smidge disappointing. Continue reading

Duets: Stretch and The DUFF
Happy Monday, friends! Well, as happy as a Monday can be, anyway. I hope you all are starting off the week right, getting stuff done and whatnot. As for me, I’ve got a little Duet to share with you today. For whatever reason, these past few days have been all about the comedies for me—one (somewhat) recently released to DVD and one currently in theaters. Continue reading
Duets: Frank and The Imitation Game
It’s finally FRIDAY!!! It’s funny how having Monday off makes the week seem so much longer…But we finally made it, and I finally have something new to share with you! Don’t get me wrong—I’ve got a couple more reblogs on the way this weekend, but I’ve been meaning to write about Oscar-nominated film The Imitation Game for quite a while now! Continue reading
Duets: Unbroken and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
Alright! Time to get down to writing about some of these stragglers from last year. I’ve been meaning to write a little something about these two for awhile now, but gees has it been hard to find the time! Now that the holidays are over, it’s high time for me to get to this Duet. Continue reading
Duets: Housebound and The Babadook
Finally. FINALLY. I have been waiting all year for horror films I could get excited about, but at last here are two that I thoroughly enjoyed. Don’t get me wrong—there have been a few pretty decent ones in 2014 (like Oculus, Horns, and Honeymoon), but nothing that really made the horror genre fresh and interesting again (at least in my humble opinion). Continue reading
Duets: Big Hero 6 and Interstellar
Another Duet for you guys today—although I have to admit that I feel kind of guilty about making mini reviews out of the two of these because they’re both great. They deserve solos, not just a duet! So forgive me for cutting corners. There’s just too much stuff out right now…which is basically the best problem ever. 🙂 Anyway, let’s sing a duet! Continue reading
Duets: The Book of Life and Horns
It’s Friiiiidaaaaayyyyy!!! And you know what just occurred to me? There’s a lot of stuff out and/or coming out right now. I just saw an awesome movie last weekend (review coming soon), I’m seeing what I suspect shall be another awesome one tonight, Mockingjay is out next weekend, The Babadook will (hopefully) be available soon…It’s a busy time, y’all. Continue reading
Duets: Annabelle and The Sacrament
I know, I know—another Duet. They’re just…so much easier than full-length reviews. However, I just saw a film that undoubtedly warrants a lengthier review (and you can probably guess the film), so expect that sometime next week. In the meantime, I saw two thoroughly mediocre horror films because I am apparently a glutton for punishment. One is currently in theaters, and the other came out on DVD not too long ago. Continue reading
Duets: The Equalizer and The Maze Runner
What do you do when you see two new movies a week apart and are two busy (and maybe a little too lazy) to write full-length reviews? You thank your lucky stars you started writing Duets. Got a couple of brand-spankin’ new ones coming your way, so let’s begin!
Duets: Honeymoon and Bad Words
Well I had a new movie-watching experience for this Duet—I rented something from iTunes. Have you guys rented stuff from them before? I don’t know if I want to make a habit of it, but I was eager to see Honeymoon, and since it was a super limited release, iTunes was pretty much my only option. I decided to pair that with a new DVD release, Bad Words. I figured pairing a horror with a comedy would be good for me. Haha. Anyway, let’s sing a little movie duet, shall we? Continue reading
