Teaser Round-Up: American Horror Story: Hotel

Hey, guys! Apologies for my absence Monday–Labor Day weekend threw off my groove. Anyway, I did something like this last year for Freak Show (and you can read that here, but all the videos have been removed from YouTube…lame), and I thought it might be fun to do it again this year for the upcoming Hotel not only because because I’m lazy and video-heavy posts please me, but because it actually ties in pretty perfectly with my upcoming post for Friday…but I won’t spoil that yet.

So let’s go over what we know for this season: As the subtitle reveals, this season of American Horror Story will take place in a hotel. More specifically, it will take place in a fictional Los Angeles hotel known as the Hotel Cortez. The Hotel Cortez is apparently partly inspired by Los Angeles’ Cecil Hotel, a place with a history of murders and suicides. Lady Gaga will play the wealthy owner of this hotel. She is a fashion icon and a socialite, and she apparently relies on human blood to maintain her beauty. So that ought to be interesting. Kathy Bates will play the hotel’s manager. Matt Bomer will play her son, who is in a love triangle with Gaga’s character and Finn Wittrock’s male model character. Sarah Paulson will play a drug addict staying at the hotel. Denis O’Hare will play a cross-dressing bar worker. Wes Bentley will play a detective investigating murders at the hotel. Angela Bassett will play an actress who also has a relationship with Gaga’s character. Evan Peters will play the builder and original owner of the hotel. Cheyenne Jackson will play a fashion designer from New York. Naomi Campbell will play a fashion editor who faces off with Gaga’s character. Darren Criss will play a demanding hipster. Oh, and Lily Rabe will play serial killer Aileen Wuornos. There are also going to be two serial killers (dubbed “The Ten Commandments Killer” and “The Addiction Demon”), and this season is apparently supposed to have tie-ins to season one–including having more of a vibe like season one (which makes me happy because season one is quite possibly my favorite).

Whew! There’s a lot going on there. I think it could be a really cool season though. But I’ll let you decide what you think from these teasers.

Our beauty rest was interrupted by this little incident.

We decided it truly is best not to wake sleepwalkers.

And, last but not least, we were scared out of our minds by these towheaded terrors.

I’m sure that’s not the last of the teasers, but that’s what we’ve got for now. As always, they say basically nothing about the season itself…but they’re pretty creepy, right? As more teasers arrive (as they inevitably will), I’ll do my best to keep this updated. I don’t know about you guys, but I kind of excited about checking into this season. Heh. Love a good hotel pun. 😉
