Superman and Star Wars: a beautiful (and super nerdy) crossover

superman star wars

Hello and HAPPY FRIDAY! Apologies for the lack of post yesterday. Busy times lately! I’m going to make it up to you by posting something tomorrow, too, so keep your eyes peeled! Or, you know, just check it on Monday. 😉 Anyway, I was going to produce a lengthier post for you today, but I found myself completely lacking the energy. Hahaha. However, I happened upon an awesome video and a series of pictures highlighting the best partnership you’ve ever seen. It all began when Zack Snyder, director of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, tweeted the above picture of Henry Cavill as Superman…the Jedi. A little over a month later, Snyder continued the theme with this:

Yep. Batman and R2-D2–or as Snyder refers to him, “R2BIN.” Well played, Mr. Snyder. He tweeted this picture to Bad Robot, J.J. Abrams’ production company. Bad Robot responded in kind:

C-3PO as Superman! Bad Robot calls him “THE C3PED CRUSADER.” Notice that Rebel Alliance symbol floating in the sky? Very clever (and wonderfully nerdy). Snyder’s answer? This:

Obviously, that Stormtrooper shouldn’t have stirred up trouble in Gotham City. Notice the “GCPD” on the police car and the ominous-looking Batmobile? It’s pretty awesome. So how could Bad Robot possible respond? How about with this video:

Now who put that Batmobile there?! Love it though. It’s my sincere hope that nerdy Twitter crossovers such as this will occur with other franchises. Maybe some Marvel/Jurassic World action? I could totally see Captain America whacking some raptors with that shield. No doubt Thor would put the hammer down on a T-Rex or two. And who knows what craziness the Hulk would get into…Anyway, what crossovers would YOU like to see?

Have a good weekend, everybody! 🙂

  1. Haha this is pretty awesome. I’d like to see a crossover between Iron Man and James Bond. Let that loud-mouth Tony Stark put his money where his Walther PPK should be. 🙂
