Premiere Particulars: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

agents of shield

Here we go again, fellow Marvel nerds! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned to ABC last week for its season two premiere (and you can read about its season one premiere here). I have to say, this one was kind of on the brink for a while. About halfway into last season, the show seemed to be in a rut—not really raising the stakes or answering any questions or even going much of anywhere. Continue reading

What do you do when you see two new movies a week apart and are two busy (and maybe a little too lazy) to write full-length reviews? You thank your lucky stars you started writing Duets. Got a couple of brand-spankin’ new ones coming your way, so let’s begin!

Genre Grandeur – Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)

Hi, friends! A somewhat belated reblog on my part, but a reblog nonetheless! Here’s my write-up of Star Trek: Into Darkness for MovieRob’s fantastically fun Genre Grandeur series! 🙂

MovieRob

Here’s a review of Star Trek: Into Darkness from Cara of Silver Screen Serenade for this month’s Genre Grandeur – Space.

It still isn’t too late for anyone still wanting to participate in this month’s Grandeur.  Just send me your review by next Sunday, 28th September to space@movierob.net and I’ll post it before the end of the month.

Let’s see what she thought of it!

“You’re right! What I am about to do, it doesn’t make sense, it’s not logical, it is a gut feeling! I have no idea what I’m supposed to do. I only know what I can do.” – Kirk

Number of Times Seen – I saw it at least two or three times in theater and I’ve watched it at least three times since I got the DVD so…I’ll guess six times.

Brief Synopsis – “After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force…

John Malkovich Recreates Iconic Photos

Just when you thought John Malkovich couldn’t get in cooler…he did. A longtime friend of photographer Sandro Miller, Malkovich recently helped out with a little project. The following photos are almost too amazing. Continue reading

Premiere Particulars: Sleepy Hollow

sleepy hollow

Gees this is kind of surreal…A little over a year ago, Sleepy Hollow’s season one premiere was my very first write-up for Premiere Particulars. Now here I am reviewing its premiere all over again! Of all the new shows I watched last year, Fox’s Sleepy Hollow was definitely the one that grew on me most. My initial response to it was lukewarm, but by the end of the season I was already desperate for season two. Continue reading

Premiere Particulars: Gotham

gotham 2

And so it begins—the first of an obnoxious amount of write-ups about premiere episodes. Seriously, you’ll just have to resign yourself to seeing at least a couple of these a week on my blog for the next month or so. But I’m sure glad this one was first on this list because I was extremely curious about it. Have you been curious, too? Well then let me share a few of the particulars of Fox’s new crime drama, Gotham. Continue reading

Series Spotlight, Pt. 1

rains of castamere

Hiya, folks! Remember when I said I was going to bring you a new post yesterday? Yeah…sorry about that. Haha. Little crazy around here as of late. Anyway, I was originally going to make a top 10 list out of this post, but I think it’s the kind of thing that I could easily make into a regular feature. I have my Song and Screen series for movies, but it doesn’t seem fair that I’m ignoring TV, no? Especially since this week marks the beginning of several shows I’m SUPER excited about (read about those here)! Continue reading

Superman and Star Wars: a beautiful (and super nerdy) crossover

superman star wars

Hello and HAPPY FRIDAY! Apologies for the lack of post yesterday. Busy times lately! I’m going to make it up to you by posting something tomorrow, too, so keep your eyes peeled! Or, you know, just check it on Monday. 😉 Anyway, I was going to produce a lengthier post for you today, but I found myself completely lacking the energy. Hahaha. However, I happened upon an awesome video and a series of pictures highlighting the best partnership you’ve ever seen. Continue reading
