Heyyyyy, guys. So, remember that final Blogiversary Bash post I promised you yesterday? Um. It’s not ready. Heh. Sorry about that. It may or may not be ready on Sunday either…we’ll see. I kind of got caught up in a True Detective marathon, which I really feel like any reasonably sane person can’t blame me for. Anyway, I didn’t want to leave you hanging, so I was roaming YouTube for random silliness I could put up and lo and behold–I rediscovered “After Ever After.” Continue reading →
I simply HAD to do this for Brian. Party Shakma grins and bears it. Afterward, many doors were destroyed.
TGIF, mis amigos! Can you believe this is the last guest post for Blogiversary Bash?! Man, time does fly. Blogiversary is ending soon?! Time to party like angsty wizards.
Well, folks, this epic Blogiversary Bash will be drawing to a close this week, but rest assured–there are a few more awesome things still to come! Just you wait. 😉 But for today, I have a sad, sad confession to make: I am not very well-versed in black-and-white classics. I’ve seen some, sure, but there are still so very many that I need to see. Luckily, the film I’m discussing today was one I checked off my list a few years back–all thanks to a film class, actually. Continue reading →
When Mistress Cara first announced that she would:
Let me out of the cellar
Let me consume human food again
Let me bathe
Host a blogathon about our favorite things
I was all about it. But then I sat in my corner like the good boy that I am, wearing my “Be Good Son” paper sack on my head thinking about it and it dawned on me that I’ve probably already written about my favorite movies on my own site so what could I do? Continue reading →
The warning signs were all there: low percentages on Rotten Tomatoes, poor scores on IMDb, less than favorable reviews from my fellow bloggers…but I went anyway. And neither of these films was worth the ticket price (and I only paid four bucks for one of them). Prepare yourselves, my friends—these might be my saddest Duets reviews yet. Here we go… Continue reading →
Party Sheep is a baaaaad boy. Heh. Heh heh. See what I did there? See? …Yeah, I’ll shut up now.
For Blogiversary Bash so far, I’ve covered comedy gold, superhero awesomeness, and quotes from one of the most quotable films of all time. What next? Well, it only seems right to delve into the world of animated films. I’m a grown-up, but I have absolutely no shame in admitting that I loved animated films–some more than others, of course, but I think well-done animated films are great since they can appeal to such a wide range of people. And in this gal’s opinion, few studios understand animated films quite like Pixar does. Continue reading →

Slowly but surely, I am getting around to addressing these TV premieres. This was one that I was quite curious about and not just because the premise is interesting. For those who don’t already know, The Leftovers is adapted from a novel of the same name by Tom Perrotta—a novel that I actually read for a class in college once. In fact, we were reading it while Perrotta was in negotiations for making this HBO series, and I know that because my professor was in touch with him. Continue reading →
