Doctor Who Teaser Trailer #2

Hiya, folks! I’d hoped to have a new write-up for you guys today, but since I didn’t quite get that written in time…How about a new teaser trailer for the upcoming season of Doctor Who?? Haha. A bit more revealed here. Clearly, the 12th (13th?) Doctor is going to be a very different fella from his previous incarnation. I get the impression that Peter Capaldi will be much more intense than Matt Smith–hopefully just as wonderful, too! Continue reading

Blogiversary Bash: Film Grimoire

I'm running out of party dogs, but I figured as an Australian, Anna would be fine with party 'roos.

I’m running out of party dogs, but I figured as an Australian, Anna would be fine with party ‘roos.

Hi there, friends! I hope your weekend has been absolutely splendid so far. How about a little something to add to that awesomeness? For example, a review from the lovely Miss Anna over at Film Grimoire? I certainly hope you’re following Anna because she has some excellent content over there–lots of great film reviews, write-ups answering whether or not a film is worth paying for a movie ticket, hilarious segments highlighting certain search terms, and so much more. Premiere Particulars: True Blood

true blood 1

And so it begins—the final season of True Blood, a staple of HBO since 2008. It’s a little weird to think of the network without its bloody, sexy vampire drama, but let’s be real—it is high time for this show to end. In fact, I’ve been thinking that for the past three seasons. The first three seasons were fun and interesting and unique. The last three seasons…not so much. Continue reading

GUESS WHO’S COMING TO DINNER????

THE RIFF-RAFF, THAT’S WHO!!!

That’s right ladies and gents, I’m here in all of my Unclean Glory…. When I was talking with Cara about my idea for her upcoming blogathon – and that it would require a bunch of uploading, she suggested making me an author on her site here so I could “upload those damned things myself” (sic). Of course I was all “YES YES  YES YES YES I CLEAN UP GOOD!!!!” and she said “OK, but no rough housing, horsing around or farting” …….. and then I got my invite…. Continue reading

Blogiversary Bash: The Avengers: Awesomeness Assembles

avengers 3

Guys. I realize people haven’t shut up about it for the past two years…but can we just talk about how ridiculously great The Avengers is? Like The Princess Bride (see my quote tribute to that here), it’s a film that I could watch over and over and over again. And that’s pretty amazing given how stupid I initially thought it was going to be. Oh yeah–I was a doubter. Continue reading

I have a confession to make: I’m not a huge fan of the Coen brothers. I’ll pause to let the many, horrified gasps die down…

Everybody good? Because yep. I said it.

Admittedly, I haven’t seen all of their allegedly best stuff (i.e. The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men, Inside Llewyn Davis, etc.), but what I have seen has…
