2013 Roundup (aka a lazy rehashing of previous posts)

Lazy Boys - Print 2755

Today, I am as lazy as this lazy polar bear. Perhaps lazier.

This post exists due to the following reasons:

  1. By the time I got home last night, I was too lazy to write anything new.
  2. But I really wanted to post something.
  3. I saw a bad movie, and I could’ve written something about that…
  4. …But I’m considering using that material for The IPC‘s Shitfest.
  5. And I could’ve done a Resolutions film…
  6. …But it would’ve been super late by the time I wrapped everything up, and I was sleeeeepy.
  7. Recently, I’ve seen a lot of postings about the best/worst movies of 2013.
  8. Why the heck shouldn’t I do something like that?

Whether those reasons justify this lazy post or not, here are a few things I’ve scrounged up from the films/TV shows I reviewed last year here on Silver Screen Serenade.

Well, that about wraps up this shamefully lazy post. Hopefully I’ll be bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and ready to take on another resolution tonight so I can post it for your perusal tomorrow. Until then, enjoy this video of my strange, adorable little friend Marcel the Shell:

  1. Agree with a lot of what you say. You’ll love While you were Sleeping when you see it. I really rated Now you See me and Rush but not on most people’s list. I shake my fist at the remake of Great Gatsby. Rating Arrow gets you treble points and adds to my already high opinion of you 🙂

    • Yeah I still need to watch While You Were Sleeping! I liked Now You See Me well enough, but it wasn’t one of my top films. Haven’t seen Rush or Gatsby. I’ll probably watch the former, but not the latter (most people I’ve talked to/reviews I’ve seen share your opinion of it). LOVE Arrow. One of my current obsessions for sure!

        • I’ve seen a few and liked most of them. I don’t typically watch them, but I wouldn’t avoid something just because it was a western. I’ve thought about getting into Justified. Does that count? Lol.

        • Justified is AWESOME!!!!

Deadwood is a very hard R rated Western from HBO – it’s probably more of a male taste…

        • Haha I thought you might be a fan of Justified! That and Sons of Anarchy are the FX shows I keep hearing good things about. One day, I will watch them. I might give Deadwood a try, too. Seems like the kind of thing where I’ll know whether or not I’m going to like it after the first episode.

        • It’s one of the only shows on TV that I like that’s not on a premium channel : )

          (aside from comedies)

    • Hahaha. Probably. In retrospect, I might downgrade Insidious to a C+, but We’re the Millers was okay. Honestly, I feel like I don’t see that many terrible movies. But maybe I’m being too nice…

  2. Lazy? Maybe. But still interesting. 🙂

You already know my thoughts on the movies in question. So I won’t comment again.

I will say Carnivale is awesome. Sad it only for two seasons.

Agents of SHIELD. Less good. I might be giving up in that one.

    • You’re a Carnivale fan, too?! Soooo good! I watched it last year knowing it would be short-lived, but that didn’t make the end any less depressing. I heard it was the expenses that ended the show, but it’s so good that I find it kind of ridiculous they couldn’t work something out…Oh well. I’m still giving AOS a chance. I heard that last night’s episode actually revealed something about Coulson. We shall see.

      • I have last night’s episode DVR’d. Still not sure I’m ever going to watch it. If you like you it, let me know. Maybe you’ll change my mind.

Carnivale ended as it did because the creators were told they were getting a third season. It wasn’t until after the completion of the second season that HBO change its mind. I don’t know why the network cancelled it, though.

  3. Yay, lists! I do love a good list. I agree with pretty much all of your listings, actually, especially your bottom ones. I’ve still yet to watch the first season of American Horror Story but I definitely will soon. Also, Justified is really good. So I second that recommendation!

  4. I’m going to have to check out This Is The End since it’s on your top and surprise list. I finished AHS Asylum last month and can’t wait to get started with Coven.
Great post! I wish I could be this productive when I feel lazy. 🙂

    • Haha thanks! Definitely check out This Is the End. It’s probably not suited to everyone’s tastes, but I thought it was hilarious. Nice to find another AHS fan! I liked Asylum, but Coven…Oh man. Coven is something else. You’ll love it!!!

  5. A list! A list! You did a list and I missed it!!!!! Lol. God I need to keep on top of the blogging thing. : ( Great lists! Wow – Prisoners is very high on your list. I swear I’m the only person who thought that was average! : )
